AFL Grand Final at Optus Stadium in Perth
AFL Grand Final fever was in full play last week at the new Optus Stadium in Perth, located on the banks of the Swan River. The Melbourne Demons and the Western Bulldogs drew in capacity crowds, official attendance 61,118. The lucky fans had an unimpeded, 360deg spectacular view of the match, thanks to Avac’s Vacuum Pluming Solutions. The installation of Avac’s Vacuum Drainage over traditional gravity, allowed for greater design flexibility and ticked all the environmental challenges because of site conditions. Avac’s piping network was routed above ground, which meant there was no waste draining under the slab, hence eliminating the risk of sewage leaking into the Swan River. Avac’s Vacuum Toilets were also utilised on this project to alleviate demand on water usage and waste, only 1.5L per flush!
