Supermarkets situated in modern shopping centres need to remodel on a reasonably regular basis to maintain a fresh perspective for shoppers.
Owners of a Brisbane supermarket chain decided to add a new store to the Carindale Shopping Centre in SE Queensland.
The new supermarket was to be situated on the floor above another tenant who was unwilling to provide access to their ceiling space for traditional gravity plumbing.
In this case, the other tenant happened to be a branch of the Commonwealth Bank, whose vault was situated directly underneath the new location for the supermarket.
Avac’s vacuum drainage systems eliminate the need for underground drainage piping in the shopping area. This allowed the development of the supermarket to proceed, despite not having access to the floor below.
In addition, because trenching is eliminated, store remodel activities take less time, meaning a reduced attrition rate of shoppers who might otherwise develop new shopping habits in other locations.
